SameShips

SameShips

SameShips is a Pioneers SA project planned by a small team of volunteers in 2019. Between 1836 – 1846 over 300 ships from overseas and many inter-colonial small ships arrived.  Therefore, this will be an ongoing project for many years to come.

We welcome all members and non-members with an interest in preserving and sharing history to become involved.

The aim is to establish a comprehensive history of the pioneers arriving in South Australia by ship from overseas and other colonies from 1836-1846. We will collect and record family information of pioneers who arrived in South Australia as passengers on board the ‘same ship’, from 1836 to 1846.

The SameShips Project team holds regular monthly workshops throughout the year for interested persons at Pioneers SA on Wednesday from 10 am to 12 noon. Dates are advertised in the monthly newsletter, quarterly Journal and on Facebook and our Website.

If you are interested in participating in a workshop please contact the team via email sameships@pioneerssa.org.au
